Filing Back Taxes

If you have unfiled tax returns mounting up you’re not alone. Missing paperwork, confusing tax forms and lack of funds causes many taxpayers to avoid filing their taxes. Get back on track this year by working with ENG Accounting & Taxation Srvc Inc.. We’ll tackle whatever obstacles are in the way and get your back taxes filed so you can start fresh.

Offer in Compromise

For taxpayers that feel the amount of their tax bill was unfair or for those who cannot afford to pay because of an economic hardship, an offer in compromise could be the remedy for your tax problems.

An offer in compromise allows a taxpayer to resolve a tax debt by convincing the IRS to agree to accept less than the full amount owed. If you feel you shouldn't be liable for the assessed amount of a tax bill or if you’re suffering from financial difficulties that are preventing you from paying your tax debt, an offer in compromise to the IRS might be the right solution for you.

If you owe back taxes, penalties, and interest but don’t have the money to pay all at once, we may be able to arrange for an installment agreement that will allow you to pay off your tax debt over time.

If you’ve filed your tax return but are unable to pay your taxes owed all at once, you may qualify to pay the debt over time with an installment agreement (or IRS payment plan). We’ll work directly with the IRS to arrange a comfortable monthly payment that you can afford to eliminate your tax debt once and for all.

The IRS will sometimes abate or remove penalties for taxpayers who have failed to pay their taxes due to an illness, a death in the family, or ignorance of the tax laws. Find out if you qualify.

If you meet the requirements for penalty abatement or can prove a mistake was made by the IRS, the penalties and interest you owe could be partially or completely canceled. We can organize the necessary documentation, write a petition stating why your circumstances fall into one of the categories for penalty abatement, and submit your case to the IRS.

This temporary provision is designed to protect taxpayers that are unable to work due to an illness or unemployment from becoming victims of drastic IRS collection methods like liens or levies.

Taxpayers who are suffering a real economic hardship that's making a tax burden overwhelming may qualify to have the debt declared "currently not collectible". This status does not forgive the debt but temporarily prevents the IRS from issuing a wage garnishment, levy or other collection method to pay off the tax debt. We can determine if you qualify for this form of tax relief and can prepare and file the Form 433-F with the IRS for you.

Are you feeling overwhelmed at the idea of filing your delinquent tax returns? Do you fear you may owe the IRS more money than you can afford to pay all at once? Stop worrying and take action by contacting ENG Accounting & Taxation Srvc Inc.. Falling behind on filing your taxes can happen to anyone and we can help anyone get up to date. We understand you may be concerned that locating and organizing past tax records will be difficult but qualified tax professionals like us will walk you through the process and make it easier than you think.

If you do owe the IRS back taxes there are several tax relief options available, but you must file your back taxes first, and then apply for an installment agreement, penalty abatement or other form of tax relief. First we'll assist you as you collect any W-2's, 1099's, mortgage interest statements and other documentation needed to complete your back tax returns. Then we’ll prepare and file your taxes, being careful to take advantage of any deductions available. If needed, we'll mediate the situation with the IRS to minimize your tax debt, set up a payment plan and reduce or eliminate any penalties incurred from your late filing.
